In honour of women

Celebrate in honour of women all around our world of blue,
show your sisters how much you hold them dear.
Remember all the suffering women have been subjected to,
the need to fight against this abuse is clear.
Honour women's sacred powers of nurturance and creation,
never forget a woman's labour gave you light of day.
Be thankful for women's countless contributions to civilization,
these are often unacknowledged to great dismay.
Respect the undaunted humanity of women and treasure it,
do not let the world treat women without care.
That it's still a man's world out there we must alas admit,
we must end discrimination to make things fair.
On this day as every other, treat women with love.
